Damn! Gabby beat me to the obligatory smartass comment!
Still, can't let this one slide.
"...and when you do, please don't stare."

Beta seems to have overtaken you in this matter !! Way to go boy, show your sister it is done :))

Anonymous said...

My apologies, it should have read

show your sister, how it is done :)

Alpha said...

bloghopper! For this I had to appear and clarify misconceptions..this is my cousin sis's kid and not Beta's! My parents will disown me in that case and its not even 9 months since he got married! both of us will be disowned simultaneously. but we shall not let anything past him.

smiley: if i made the shirt thingie, i would have spelt my name explicity across..so not other aunties can put their claim!

gabby: thanks...but seriously, how much percentage of my genes would have gone into her anyway? first thing i asked my cuz..does she have a big nose like me? and she was like- why is it about YOU? so i think cuzzin will really appreciate this T-shirt!

Alpha said...

vc: i hope you mean staring in the good way. but with you south indian guys, who can tell.

Me said...

...lol...anyways i was thinking u were going to present something made of that long green skirt ..:p

Anonymous said...

Sociology says that ppl with long noses have loads of patience...!!

anantha said...

Alpha: Whoa.. whoa.. Time out..

but with you south indian guys, who can tell.

What was that all about? Arre now I am thinking of disowning you!

Alpha said...

why take offence? you south indian? would have never guessed.

didn't know what vc meant..so preemptive strike it was.

me: green skirt has gone into oblivion one would hope.

wa: I was thinking more in the lines of martian.

Why should anyone who thinks the baby is cute be forced to see her aunt? What is the logic, I don't get it :O?

Is this the cute little dress you were referring to in "Strange Strangers"?

If yes, don't you think it's a wee bit unfair to have expected the child's mom to actually appreciate the gift?

We southies are an enigma, alright!

I was just thinking. If it was a nephew/niece and you an uncle. How does it play out? Bah! fridays.

Anonymous said...

Ah ha! I am her aunt too you kno! :)

d.n.a.: In response to your We southies are an enigma, alright! - vaendaan. Then Alpha will respond with something like 'Absolutely. You Southie men sure help me with my crapping' or something like that.

pavan kumar said...

my grad life has taught me to question.. like why? how? when? is it? (and also sometimes: when do I graduate?).. so I "demand" proof. ok plz? pretty plz? :D

Ravages/CC said...

Rolled eyes. I really did.

Plus:
"bandar kya jaane adrak ka swad." LOL!LOL!

Idhu enna? Mixed pazhamozhis - Kalakkal proverbs?

Alpha said...

amethyst: no no, that was not the one..but this one did solicit smirks from the parents...dont know if that is a good sign.

sb: yeah ok.

dna: if i were an uncle? why would you want that..at least hubby would not.

rationale: but let it be clear that the aunty in question is me (zimbly coz i paid for it..nothing to do with your cuteness)

aparna: thanks for compliment.

m: aha! you are that person who has the last laugh!

vc: this i understood.

pavan: I can conclude that you are single and will remain so for a long period of time due to the following reasons:

1. not simply agreeing with women
2. using grad life as example
3. calling me pretty and asking for proof

oh here is the proof anyway, Gramma has two daughters- Rho and Gamma. Omega is Rho's daughter and Alpha is Gamma's daughter. Omega gives birth to baby in question. So the Alpha is baby's what?

Solving by quadratic equations,
alpha= aunt

QED

Ravages: Stare at fixed object for 3 minutes and do not roll. it will solve your problem.

Alpha: Now that I think about it, you need not have mentioned the obvious with that last line of the post. But hey, your blog your post. Who am I to say anything. But rest assured, eyes were rolled! And now you have another sister too? And you are like this even after having someone to learn from?? Tsk tsk.. :P

Mrudula Sreekanth said...

I should say that do you come up with names (Gramma, Rho, Omega, Gamma) very fast. ;)

Lol! :) that was a good one there! Wonder what your niece will have to say when she's old enough to understand whats written there! :)

Alpha said...

hehh: (why hehh?) will send marble idol asap.

anti: my cousin sister..and btw, you didnt account for my mom and dad to be role models or did you think they are not capable of it?

hardu: it isnt hardu at all.

grey shades: as long as she grows up and its still there...i think i'll be happy. i secretly think the parents are quickly going to trash it or my cuz will palm it off to her niece.

anantha said...

Alpha: Hmm...Most kids when the they grow up, wan't to do all the things that they thought their parents never did. So these things, you wouldn't learn from them. And btw, there will be a time in the coming days when we will stop responding to the name "anti". So pliss to change!
